Hi, I'm Jules

I always had an interest in designing, from when I was a child I would constantly be drawing room and garden plans for my parents and at school secretly designing clothing I wanted to wear, in my science classes.

I went on to do an Art and design foundation year at De Montfort University in Leicester. I knew I had a billion creative ideas, but I was on the search for a particular direction to focus on. On a weekly classic "Orange Wednesdays" trip with my friends, I had gone to see Casino Royal at the Cinema. It was the opening title sequence to the movie that gave me that light bulb moment. It was so cool and I was excited by the combination of music and visual design of it all. And that was it, the seed set in my brain. I just needed to find that course that would help me achieve this. However this was back in 2008, not even my tutors knew what the profession was called where you make an opening title to a movie. I went on many trips around the country with my Dad to find a BA course, mostly consisting of Pixar style animations, however this wasn't what I meant. Eventually I found two courses in the whole country that offered a Motion Graphic Design BA. I picked Ravensbourne in London. It had great links, facilities and tutors. I learnt a lot from industry legend Liz Friedman about creating a visual brand as well as animation.

In 2011, I graduated. I then gained my first job at First Image in London who spotted my talent from my university degree show. They were the best company to learn and begin using my skills in the real world. I learnt C4D, the Redgiant trapcode suite and 3D element. I worked on animations for promotional video but also event award shows, which was so much fun. I assisted the tech guys at the shows to make sure the animations worked smoothly on the large screens and seeing my work from the audience perspective is really fun.

I was there for 4 years and then moved to the midlands. I won a job as the first Motion graphic designer at Affixxius studios in Loughborough. They were incredibly good at creative video content for adverts and schools, but needed to push their motion design side of the company, which was fun because it offered me more integrated graphics to video. I worked with a Nuke compositor, 3D designer and of course the film team to interlay any motion design into the new worlds.

Another 4 years later I moved onto Posh Gecko in Peterborough, where I have pushed the quality of my graphic design for so many different types of clients, big, small, some with brand guidelines, some without. Each one needing a personalised style and purpose.

My work encompasses a range of styles and formats, including explainer videos, promotional content, and animated infographics. I pride myself on tailoring each animation to the needs of the client, ensuring that their vision is realized and their message is effectively communicated.

Thank you for visiting my website! I look forward to connecting and exploring how we can bring your ideas to life through motion design.
